Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted in Raspberry (Or was it Ruby?)

Neeldes: US size 10.5

I know I'm probably the last person to finish this project, but school has just been so busy and has limited my knitting time. It started off as my Mom's birthday gift, then Mother's Day gift, and now it's just the really belated gift, ha! I messed up and rip all of it out at one point, but somehow I stuck with it and have re-knit the little thing. Right now I'm just glad it's done!

Hi everyone, I thought I'd update on the Phoebe-along ...

First of all, welcome Allie at Trendy Knitter to the knitalong!

Second, Alex emailed me to share that she's working on (or finished already?) her fourth Phoebe ... can you believe it?! Go, Alex!

I remember mentioning that I wanted to make a Phoebe in two rectangles out of Noro Silk Garden ... I'm thinking one skein per rectangle ought to do it. What do you think?

I know this is a lousy photo, but my Phoebe is coming along. I'm only about 10 inches into the project, and it's going pretty well for the most part. I messed up on one row, but hasn't really messed up the rest of the project. Better photos and more details coming in the future.

Thought I'd share the link that Cathi (too cool to join our little knitalong here ... no, really, probably just busy, but thought I'd just say that because it's late at night) finished a Phoebe from on errant skein of Cotton Ease. Go take a peek!

I'm thinking of starting another Phoebe sometime soon, and instead of doing the one long rectangle, this time I'd like to do two rectangles with one point in back and one in front. I haven't done the measurements yet, but I think that I'd need longer than 20" per rectangle length as the length will go up against the shorter edge of the other rectangle. (Whew, was that confusing or what?) What I mean is that I know I'll be needing more yarn ... but how much do you think I'd need? I guesstimate that I used around 225 yds for my phoebe (a little into the 2nd skein of Lamb's Pride, and the... (more)

Finishing Phoebe

Everyone's finished Phoebe's look great! I'm done too -- except for the sewing -- planning to do that later on tonight. Mine looks exactly like Lu's -- same color which I really like. But I also love the colorful Phoebe's! I think I'll start another one while I still have the pattern in mind. In fact I did start another one in Big Kureyon (an idea that I got when Jenifer was thinking about using Silk Garden--plus I had a stray skein) but the Kureyon is too scratchy I think--it might be o.k. during the winter over a turtleneck or something but the Silk Garden would probably be great.

I finished this last week, but just haven't quite had time to blog about it yet, so here's the 4-1-1:

FO Report: Phoebe

Designer: Norah Gaughan

Pattern Source: IWK Spring 05 issue

Yarn: Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted, color Fuschia

Yarn Source: my stash (gotta love that!)

Needle Size: US 10.5

Gauge: more or less whatever the pattern said

What can I say about this little capelet?

At first glance, I thought it would be super-easy. Upon casting on, I found it to be a little difficult at first ... good thing we have this knitalong! The stitch pattern sent me... (more)

Hello everyone!!

I finished my Phoebe as well and I love it! It doesn't look too much like the one in the picture. I have no idea why, but I think my gauge was off a bit. But, I really like it and I got lots of compliments on it. I may make another one!

Excuse the strange expression on my face!
